NEWFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) — A person is recovering after being pinned under a lawnmower.

The Newfield Fire Company says nearly a dozen people responded around two o’clock Monday afternoon to Cox Road for a lawn mower that rolled over into a ditch. The unnamed victim was trapped underneath and was having trouble breathing. Crews used the department’s newly purchased, battery powered hydraulic tools to lift the heavy mower.

The injured person was airlifted for treatment at a trauma center.
