CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County’s jail is running out of space. 

Legislative Chair Kevin Fitch tells us the county has a decision to make. 

A committee that includes Sheriff Mark Helms and Undersheriff Chad Burhans are reviewing potential options. Fitch adds the county was hoping to create a regional solution.

According to Chairman Fitch, the Cortland County Jail currently boards inmates in other local jails because of space issues.
