CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – There’s a new historic marker in Cortland.

The marker recognizes the Greenman House, which was built in 1896 with design plans from George F. Barber’s 1895 American Homes catalogue.

According to the Cortland County Historical Society, the home was owned by William Greenman, president of the Cortland Door and Window Screen Company. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The marker was paid for with grant money from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, which also helped with the recently unveiled historic marker at the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer.
