ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A popular snack has been recalled due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.
On July 8, the FDA announced that a variety of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches had been pulled from shelves because they were incorrectly labeled as cheese cracker sandwiches. The product, sold in stores nationwide, could result in serious or deadly reactions in people with peanut allergies.
The recall applies exclusively to 8-packs, 20-packs, and 40-packs of the cracker sandwiches. Officials say the outer cartons are correctly labeled, but the individual packs on the inside are not.
To date, there have been no reports of injury or illness related to the product. See below for affected product information.
