BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A missing Broome County man has been found safe.

According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Maine, of Endicott, was located at a friend’s house early this morning in Binghamton. The 48-year-old had not been seen since the night of April 19 in the town of Union, and did not contact family, who were worried he could be confused after failing to take his diabetes medication.

Investigators issued a public call earlier this week for people within a mile of Maine’s last known location to check Ring cameras, sheds, garages, and outbuildings for clues.

After speaking with Maine, deputies say he voluntarily went to UHS hospital for evaluation.
