TRUMANSBURG, NY (CortacaToday) – An elderly man is okay after going missing in Taughannock Falls State Park.

Eckhart Lindemann, 92, was reported missing around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. In a release, State Police described the Ithaca area man as a “vulnerable adult.”

Trooper Aga Tinker confirms to WHCU that they began searching the park after locating Lindemann’s vehicle nearby. Multiple agencies, drones, and K9s were used during search efforts lasting into Thursday afternoon.

Lindemann was found safe in the park on Thursday by a search party just after 2 p.m., about 24 hours after being reported missing. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation. No other details have been released.
