PARIS, FRANCE (CortacaToday) – One Southern Tier native’s pursuit of Olympic gold has come to an end.
Union-Endicott and SUNY Binghamton grad Emily Mackay failed yesterday to qualify for the women’s 1500-meter final in Paris, ending an unbelievable journey. She earned an automatic bid into the semifinals earlier this week after placing sixth in her heat, and sixth overall out of 45 runners.
Possibly dealing with fatigue, Mackay’s race time on Thursday was over two seconds slower than her previous result.
Lansing native and four-time Cornell University NCAA Champion Kyle Dake is set to wrestle later this morning.
