MARATHON, NY (CortacaToday) — Renovations are coming to schools in Marathon.

Voters approved on Tuesday a $12 million capital project. Superintendent Andy Buchsbaum tells WHCU the work is being split into two phases.

Appleby Elementary is the subject of phase one, Buchsbaum says.

Funding for most of the project will come from state aid. Capital reserves will cover the rest, meaning taxes won’t be affected.
