MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) – The Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) is looking for interested contractors.

MAVAC is now accepting bids to construct its new ambulance station to be built at 15 Broome Street in the village. Officials say a public information session is scheduled for June that will include detailed floor plans and interior and exterior renderings. More information will be shared as the date approaches.

In addition to fundraising, nearly $1 million for the project came from a previously announced bipartisan congressional grant from Senator Chuck Schumer and then-Congressman Marc Molinaro.

Bid information can be found on the MAVAC Facebook page.
