MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — Marathon firefighters responded to a scary situation on Monday.
Authorities said a car had crashed on Route 11, and the vehicle was floating in the Tioughnioga River. They said the driver was trying to get out of the vehicle in the water.
Firefighters responded with an air boat to help with the rescue. State Police were also on the scene.
Once out of the water, the driver was evaluated. The rescue did not require transportation to a hospital.
