ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Starting August of 2024, Longview’s main building will see updates to the independent living apartments and common areas, including the dining room and auditorium.

All main kitchen appliances will also be replaced with state-of-the-art products. Stackable washer and dryers as well as dishwashers will be added to the independent living apartments.

Longview has been providing senior living to adults in and around Ithaca for fifty years. Founded in 1972, they are a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide independent, assisted, and enhanced assisted living, as well as adult day facilities to address the needs of the community.

Since moving to their current location on South Hill in 1998, their independent living apartments were put in place, in addition to their enhanced assisted living homes and patio homes. Longview also has the only social adult day care program in the county.

“As a resident over the last eight years, I’m looking forward to seeing the positive changes the renovation will bring to Longview and to the current residents as well as future residents. Bringing us into the 21st century in terms of the current needs of senior housing is very important. There’s been a need for improving and updating for many years and thankfully Longview is in a position where we can now do it.” -Allen Minsky
