ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A children’s medicine has been pulled from shelves.

According to the FDA, Little Remedies Honey Cough Syrup has been recalled due to the possible presence of bacteria that can cause two types of foodborne illnesses.

Officials say one type of illness caused by the Bacillus cereus bacteria can be characterized by nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps 1-6 hours after consumption. The other causes stomach cramps and varying degrees of diarrhea 8-16 hours after consumption.  While there have been no serious adverse health events reported, and healthy individuals may only have short-term illnesses, high levels of exposure to the bacteria can cause death.

The recall only applies to 4-oz. bottles of Little Remedies honey flavor, which were sold online and in stores nationwide from December 12, 2022, to June 4, 2025.
