ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — John Dennis is worried about Cayuga Lake.

The Democratic candidate for Tompkins County Legislature in District 7 tells us he’s troubled by what’s in the lake.

In 2017, Dennis co-founded Cayuga Lake Environmental Action Now. He says a solution to the lake’s sodium levels is reducing the amount of road salt used every winter.

“There are new technologies,” Dennis told WHCU’s Joe Salzone Monday, April 21 on Ithaca’s Morning News, “Spraying brine rather than the granulated rock salt . . . that’s a technology I’d like to see more in Tompkins County.”
