ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Staffing levels at the Ithaca Area Wastewater Treatment Facility are stabilizing.
Alderperson Clyde Lederman tells WHCU a relationship between the city and the Camden Group has been helpful.
As the city began struggling with maintaining staff levels several years ago, officials signed an agreement with the Camden, NY-based contractor in 2022. Lederman says the work done at the plant is important.
Lederman adds city sewer rates have increased “in part to make sure that we could increase with the new union contract that came into effect earlier this year so that our wages could be competitive.”
