ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An officer is recovering after a dog bite in Ithaca.

On July 1, members of the Ithaca Police Department (IPD) were observing several people break down and vacate an unauthorized camping site on the south side of the city when they say a dog became aggressive.

The dog was allegedly attacking other dogs and its owner before charging the officer. According to IPD, a taser and pepper spray were used on the animal. The injured officer was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. Animal Control seized all of the dogs.
