ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Mirabito can move forward with plans in Ithaca.

On Tuesday, members of the town of Ithaca Planning Board unanimously approved a project that includes demolishing the existing gas station and former Burger King building on Pine Tree Road. In its place will be “a new 6,000+/- square foot building containing a convenience store and restaurant with drive-through, gasoline sales, fuel canopy, electric vehicle charging stations, stormwater facilities, sidewalks/pedestrian amenities, landscaping, and other site improvements.”

The proposal was first explored in 2023 and included a car wash, which was later dropped from the plan. Other concerns further stalled the project from moving forward. Earlier this year, the Planning Board resumed discussions about redeveloping the Mirabito site across from East Hill Plaza.
