ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca is moving forward with its pilot policy on homeless encampments.
On May 7, Common Council members voted unanimously to adopt an updated version of the policy. Alderperson Patrick Kuehl said the document is not comprehensive in addressing problems.
“I think it’s important to recognize that,” he said. “I also think it’s important that I right now reaffirm my commitment to increasing public engagement towards addressing these issues.”
$800,001 has been designated to support the implementation of the policy. The funding was included in the city’s 2025 capital projects budget.
