ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca mural is getting a makeover.
The large painting on East Green Street beneath the South Aurora Street Bridge will receive a facelift. The current artwork has been there since 2010 and is inspired by the Underground Railroad. The new painting will have a similar concept and be titled Reawakening the Underground Railroad.
According to city documents, over $17,000 has been raised for the project. It’s being privately funded and will have no impact on the city’s budget.
