ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An Ithaca man has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge.

Tompkins County District Attorney Matt Van Houten says 43-year-old Ahmed Abed was formally charged by a grand jury today with the November 11, 2024, killing of his wife at their home in the City of Ithaca.

The Ithaca Police Department previously said Abed, who turned himself in, told them he “intended” to kill his wife, 43-year-old Alaa Hussein Jeena Abedi.

Abed faces 25 years to life in prison. He remains in Tompkins County Jail without bail.
