ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Ithaca Health Alliance and Free Clinic (IHA/IFC) has a new executive director.

On March 20, the IHA/IFC Board of Directors appointed Derek English. English is an attorney with a background in community programming, nonprofit management, and operational leadership. After transitioning from the legal field to the non-profit sector, English worked his way through the ranks and became Director of Care Management Services at ACR Health until last year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Derek as our new executive director,” stated Board of Directors President Alexi Clinton. “He will bring valuable experience, enthusiasm, and great communication skills to our organization. We feel very fortunate to have found him and look forward to a successful and invigorating future with him at the helm.”

Most recently, English served as practice manager at Summerwood Pediatrics in Liverpool.

“I’m excited to bring my passion for harm reduction, healthcare equity, and serving those in traditionally underserved communities to the Ithaca Health Alliance,” said English.

English will begin next month.
