ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca’s East Hill Fire Station is changing hands.

According to City Manager Deb Mohlenhoff, a deal has been made for the College Avenue property for roughly $5.5 million. The city had listed the property for sale with an asking price of $4.5 million.

The city plans to decommission the station and move firefighters into a new station on Elmwood Avenue by the end of June.

As of May 7, Mohlenhoff said the new station is roughly 90 percent completed.
