ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca College is addressing a budget deficit.

President La Jerne Terry Cornish says they’re reviewing the school’s organizational structure compared to similar colleges. Cornish, who spoke last week during the state of the college meeting, added IC must invest in faculty and staff salaries and in technology.

“My message to you today is the same as it was to the trustees last week: We need to invest in faculty and staff salaries. We need to invest in the physical plant, and in technology. And we must align our expenses with our revenue, so we can continue our mission to educate, to engage, and to empower through theory, practice, and performance,” Cornish said.

Ithaca College has faced a budget deficit the past three years, which Cornish said is not sustainable. The school’s goal is a balanced budget by 2028.
