ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — More housing is coming to Collegetown.

On Sept. 23, the Ithaca Planning & Development Board granted final approval for a seven-story building at 215 College Ave. It’ll have over 80 residential units.

The building will also have a rooftop terrace for tenants and guests. It’ll feature a lounge zone with chairs and an activity zone for cornhole and table tennis.

Lisa Nicholas, the city’s director of planning and development, has mixed feelings about the terrace.

“I think it’s beautiful, but I do worry about the noise because the noise will go off to the neighborhoods,” she said.

Property manager Charlie O’Connor said he thinks the tenants “can be responsible” in regard to noise.

The project received unanimous approval.
