ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Authorities are investigating a reported assault in the City of Ithaca.
According to the Ithaca Police Department, the crime happened around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday August 17, 2024, in the 100 block of Cascadilla Street. Police say a white male riding a bicycle attacked someone and reportedly made derogatory comments about the victim’s gender identity. It’s being investigated as a hate crime. The suspect is described as being in his mid-20s to early-30s, with curly black hair, black sweatpants, and a light-colored t-shirt.

IPD says the victim did not know the assailant, who was last seen riding a black bicycle with wide tires and rounded handlebars. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
