ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Two leaders in the Ithaca City School District say they are the targets of racist messages.

The Ithaca Voice reports Superintendent Luvelle Brown and Board of Education President Sean Eversley Bradwell have received offensive messages since a lawsuit was filed against the district by a group opposed to affirmative action. Bradwell says the district has reached out to law enforcement.

Last month, the group Equal Protection Project argued an event held by the district segregated students. The group was founded last year by Cornell Law professor William Jacobson. Brown cites the messages as a reason for not wanting to renew his contract, which expires in four years.
