ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — With a projected grand opening in mid-August of this year, Hotworx is bringing a new studio to 222 Elmira Road, Suite 11 in Ithaca.
Hotworx utilizes saunas that are infrared heat based to create an intense and unique workout. Although it is hot, it is not humid, which allows for a more comfortable environment while still being able to reap the rewards of working out in the heat. Lowered blood pressure, detoxification, sound sleep, as well as more calories burned than working out in a more temperate setting are all benefits to working out in the Hotworx saunas. More information about health benefits can be found here.
Hotworx offers two types of workouts: isometric and high intensity interval training (HIIT). Yoga, Pilates, core, and cycling based classes are just a few of the fitness programs offered. There are a total of nine different isometric workout classes and three HIIT classes to choose from, which can be found on the Hotworx website. The classes themselves can accommodate three people and are taught virtually by experts on screens inside the saunas.
Although each sauna has a capacity of three people, customers can attend as many workouts as they would like once they enter the gym. Additionally, the gym is open twenty-four hours a day, with each customer receiving their own key code for the door. Customers can also bring friends along with them to accompany them in their workouts.
Franchise owner Kenneth Burnett says those who come to Hotworx should “Make your experience your own, make it whatever you want. If you want to come in and do two workouts you can do that, if you want to come in and hangout in the sauna and take it easy with your friends you can do that too. People come to us because they want to, that’s the kind of environment we create. You can’t get what we offer anywhere else.”
Hotworx provides two different kinds of memberships: the “sweat here” membership and the “sweat everywhere” membership. The latter allows you to attend any Hotworx studio in the country, while the former is specific to one location. The studio will also be offering a lowered membership rate pre-opening which can be applied for here.
Being members of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce and collaborators with Cornell University, the studio aims to be as involved with the community as possible. For more details on the franchise and about the new Ithaca location, visit the Hotworx website.
