ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Health officials in Tompkins County recommend a proactive approach toward Mpox.

Although no cases of a new strain announced by the World Health Organization two weeks ago have been reported thus far in the region, 26 cases of the original strain were confirmed in New York City over the last month. With the start of the school year and increased international travelers to the area, Tompkins County Whole Health is urging at-risk people to get vaccinated.
