ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Health officials want to make sure a dog that bit someone in Ithaca is vaccinated.
On July 21, a person at the Ithaca Dog Park was bitten while trying to break up a fight between his dog and another. It happened at approximately 5 p.m.
The biting pup is described as a brown, medium-sized, mixed breed whose owner was a white man in their mid-to-late 60s or 70s.
According to the Tompkins County Health Department, the man may have also had a golden retriever with him. If the biting dog is observed to be healthy, it will rule out rabies treatment for the victim.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Tompkins County Whole Health Environmental Health Division at (607) 274-6688.
