ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Health officials are seeking information about a dog bite in Ithaca.
On February 4, a small white dog of an unknown breed allegedly bit someone outside of the Fairview Apartment Complex at 522 Dryden Road around 11:30 a.m.
The person who was bitten did not realize the extent of the injury, so information was not exchanged. The biting dog was being walked by a female, possibly of Asian descent, who was wearing all black, including a black coat.
The Tompkins County Environmental Health Division wants to confirm the dog’s rabies vaccination status to rule out post-rabies exposure treatment for the victim. Anyone with info is asked to call Environmental Health at (607)-274-6688.
In related news, the Tompkins County Whole Health Department is hosting a free vaccination clinic on February 18 in Caroline.
