AURORA, NY (607NewsNow) – A group of Wells College alumni have moved to purchase the Aurora campus.
The Cleveland Commission for Wells officially submitted a bid to buy the property last week. The non-profit group, named for former first lady and 1885 Wells grad Frances Folsom Cleveland, wants to restore the historic site as an academic institution.
They’re asking for public support for their bid with the NYS Attorney General’s Office and financial pledges. More information is available here.
The Cleveland Commission is one of several groups to submit bids, including the Hiawatha Institute for Indigenous Knowledge.
