GROTON, NY (607NewsNow) — The Groton Central School District is adapting to a new cell phone ban in classrooms, which is part of the state budget.
Superintendent Margo Martin discussed her district’s plan Thursday, July 17 on Ithaca’s Morning News.
Martin added implementation will likely come with some growing pains.
In January, Gov. Kathy Hochul first introduced her proposed ‘Bell-to-Bell’ ban on access to cell phones during the school day. It was included in the 2026 state budget, which was approved earlier this year.
