CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – Cortland County is getting nearly $10 million for infrastructure improvements.

The funding comes from the BRIDGE NY initiative and the federal Bridge Formula Program, which is shelling out over $480 million for critical work across the state. In Central New York, 21 projects are getting grants totaling $37.5 million. Cortland County will use $9.372 million in grants to replace two bridges and three culverts.

Projects:

  • $2.387 million to replace the Pine Hill Road bridge over Hunts Creek
  • $2.491 million to the Town of Cortlandville to replace the Hoxie Road Bridge over Hoxie Creek
  • $1.495 million to the Town of DeRuyter to replace the Williams Road culvert carrying Middle Branch Tioughnioga Creek
  • $1.5 million to replace the Cold Brook Road (Route 102) culvert carrying Cold Brook Creek
  • $1.499 million to the Town of Preble to replace the Currie Road culvert carrying the West Branch Tioughnioga River

Tompkins County was awarded a little more than $8 million for four projects.
