ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Check your freezers.

A product sold in select Aldi stores nationwide has been pulled from shelves. According to the USDA, Bestway Sandwiches has recalled nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen Casa Mamita Chicken and Cheese Taquitos for potential metal contamination.  The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says the manufacturer has received two reports of metal in the food, including one that resulted in a dental injury.

The affected products come in 20-oz. packages (pictured above) with ‘Best By Dates’ of 07/03/25 and 09/25/25, a UPC Code of 4061459337471, and bear the establishment number ‘EST.-P-40327.’ All products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. No other variety of taquitos is affected by the recall.
