FREEVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Tompkins County man faces five felony charges.

Matthew Lynch, of Freeville, is accused of possessing child pornography. State Police began investigating the 31-year-old after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

State Police confirm Lynch was arrested on January 16 after a search was conducted at his home. Troopers say Lynch had a rifle and illegal high-capacity ammunition magazines in addition to ‘images consistent with child exploitation.’

Lynch is charged with two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
