CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – Catholic Charities of Cortland County is stepping up to keep kids fed over school break.

The Free Summer Lunch Program began Monday for anyone 18 and under. The program partners with the NYS Department of Education and Cortland Enlarged City School District. Free midday meals will be available Monday through Friday at Suggett Park from noon to 1 p.m., the Barry School from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and Beaudry Park from 11 a.m. to noon through August 23.

According to Catholic Charities of Cortland County, over 8,000 meals were served to more than 500 children last year.

No application or registration is required. All sites are closed on July 4 and July 5.
