ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Meteorologists say keep an eye on rainfall tonight.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended a regional flood watch, which now includes Tompkins, Cortland, Tioga, Broome, and Chemung Counties.
Officials say excessive runoff could result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. The public is encouraged to monitor the NWS website and be prepared to take action should a flood warning be issued.
The flood watch remains in effect through tonight.
