LINDLEY, NY (CortacaToday) – New trails are open at a nearby nature preserve in Steuben County.

Located just southwest of Corning in the Town of Lindley and Erwin, six miles of trails at Bad Bear Hill are now available for public use. The Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT) acquired the 990-acre property in February, the largest project in its 35-year history. Officials with the Ithaca-based conservation group say a trailhead can be accessed on Reep Road in the Town of Lindley.

The nature preserve is open for hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and birdwatching. Mountain biking is limited to forest roads only. Bad Bear Hill closes at dark.

More information on Bad Bear Hill can be found at the Finger Lakes Land Trust website.
