ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Another potential candidate for Ithaca’s Common Council has emerged.
The Ithaca Voice reports Leon Holden will run for the First Ward seat. He is the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Family and Children’s Services and a member of seven local non-profit boards, including Meals on Wheels, and the Community School of Music and Arts.
Holden says his primary focus if elected would be to address housing issues in Ithaca. He will square off against former Alderperson Jorge Defendini in the June 25 Democratic primary.
The First Ward includes parts of downtown, West Hill, and North Side neighborhoods.
