LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — Family Reading Partnership in Tompkins County is re-opening.
After moving down the hall in the Shops at Ithaca Mall, the non-profit group cuts the ribbon on Thursday, July 9 at the new, larger space. Infants and young kids can enjoy more features in a location that’s double in size.
According to a news release, “The Nook has relocated just down the hallway, and their new home boasts more gross motor opportunities, a calming corner, and the same comfortable and engaging third space that local families have come to trust.”
Executive Director Amber Smith recently told 607 News Now a $100,000 fundraiser, which the group announced earlier this year, was first established to upgrade the HVAC system at their spot of several years. But they decided to pivot and put that money toward relocating. Their new location has an updated HVAC system, Smith said.
The ribbon gets cut at 5 p.m. Thursday and tours of The Nook will be held until 7 p.m. The best entrance is to the left of Cayuga Health.
