PENN YAN, NY (607NewsNow) – The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance (FLTA) has announced the continuation of its Explore Finger Lakes Annual Scholarship, designed to advance education and professional growth within the region’s tourism and hospitality industry.

In collaboration with the Finger Lakes business community, FLTA will award a $2,500 scholarship to support learners pursuing higher education or professional development. This year, the scholarship has been expanded beyond traditional college students to include current industry employees seeking professional certifications or career advancement courses.

The award will be presented at an industry gathering on December 12th at Seasons on Keuka, located at the Hampton Inn Penn Yan. The scholarship will go to a dedicated tourism or hospitality professional, or a student from the Finger Lakes region who is currently in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study in a related field.

“We understand that a strong workforce and dedicated leadership are the cornerstones of the tourism and hospitality industry’s future, and are proud to help motivated professionals continue to learn fundamental practices in and out of the classroom,” said FLTA President & CEO Meghan Nulty.

Eligible applicants include individuals from the 14-county Finger Lakes region who are currently pursuing secondary education or professional certification in the tourism and hospitality fields.
