DANBY, N.Y. (607NewsNow) — Officials have yet to determine the fate of a Tompkins County polling place.
County election commissioners are considering eliminating the West Danby Fire Station as a voting site. Officials said it’s home to the smallest election district in the county.
According to Danby Town Supervisor Joel Gagnon, commissioners recently suggested turning the Newfield Fire Hall into a “super site” where West Danby residents could vote with Newfield residents.
Gagnon said another option is to instead make the West Danby station a super site because of its central location. He said commissioners seemed “willing” to consider that suggestion.
