ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Polls are now closed in New York.

In Tompkins County, today’s vote tally was 23,733. Cortland County’s vote count on Election Day was 12,456. You’ll recall the early voting period in New York ended on Sunday, where over 20,000 votes were cast between the two counties.

According to the New York State Board of Elections, the statewide Proposition 1 known as the NYS Equal Rights Amendment, which would change the state constitution to include protection based on gender identity and expression, national origin, sexual orientation, and pregnancy, has passed.
