ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Tomorrow marks the official start of primary season in Tompkins County.

On June 14, early voting begins at 9 a.m. at Ithaca Town Hall, located at 215 North Tioga Street. Polls close at 5 p.m.

It’s the first of nine days of early voting, with candidates looking to secure their place on ballots for elections in two county legislative districts and three Ithaca city wards.

In Tompkins County Legislative District 3, Iris Packman and Pierre Saint-Perez are looking to get the nod. Daniel Nolan is also on a separate ballot in District 3 for a special election to fill the remaining term left by the recently departed Susan Currie. Nolan is not seeking the seat beyond the term, which ends at the end of the year.

Kyle Erickson, Matt Sullivan, and Irene Weiser are on the ballot in Tompkins County Legislative District 13.

In the City of Ithaca Common Council’s First Ward, Jorge Defendini, Alejandro Santana, and Leon Holden seek the Democratic nomination.

Over in Ward 3, you can vote for Pat Sewell or Billy Noseworthy.

In the city’s Fifth Ward is Hannah Shvets, Deborah Fisher, and G.P. Zurenda, Jr.

Potential Town Council positions are also up for grabs in Danby and Newfield.

Primary election day is June 24. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
