DRYDEN, NY (CortacaToday) — Two Tompkins County towns are getting increased internet service.
Dryden and Caroline recently won $8.9 million dollars in grant money through New York State’s ConnectALL program. Dryden Fiber Executive Director David Makar tells WHCU how the money will allow the municipal broadband service to grow.
Makar also says the award allows the town to reach over 2,600 new locations.
Makar adds the 30-month deadline is enough time to complete the work that’s already started. Caroline Town Supervisor Mark Witmer says he’s ‘grateful’ for the funding.
