CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A local restaurant is being recognized at the state level.

On December 12, State Senator Lea Webb presented Doug’s Fish Fry with the New York State Senate Empire Award, highlighting over three decades of exceptional quality, commitment to sustainability, and leadership.

Doug’s maintains its flagship location in Skaneateles, as well as a dedicated restaurant in Cortland. Additionally, their popular To-Go Food Truck holds pop-up events across Upstate New York. The popular ToGo program helps raise funds for ambulance services, fire departments, schools, and other community groups.

“Doug’s Fish Fry represents the best of what small businesses bring to our communities: integrity, service, and generosity,” said Webb. “For 34 years, they’ve not only served delicious food but have also shown what it means to invest in people. Their dedication to quality, community, and public well-being is a model for others across our state.”

First opened in 1991, Doug’s has built a strong following based on its daily deliveries of fresh seafood while focusing on a clean, quick, and friendly dining experience.

“This recognition belongs to everyone who has supported Doug’s Fish Fry along the way – from our crew behind the counter to the families who line up for a meal that gives back,” said Doug’s Fish Fry Owner Mark Braun. “Together, we’ve proven that great food and community spirit can make a lasting difference.”
