CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Developers want to transform an old strip mall in Cortland.
Non-profit group Christopher Community Inc. has received $1.25 million in funding to construct the Bridgeview Commons on the city’s north end. The mixed-use facility will feature commercial space and storage for the Christopher Community. It will also house operations for two additional non-profit groups.
Those groups are Seven Valleys Food Rescue, which transports excess food from local donors to organizations and community programs that feed food-insecure residents, and the Cortland ReUse Center, which focuses on creating a circular economy by rescuing usable items from landfills.
The money comes from New York’s Empire State Development Grant Program.
