LOS ANGELES, CA (607NewsNow) — As wildfires continue blazing through the greater Los Angeles area, Ithaca College says students will begin moving into their dorms on Sunday at the Ithaca College Los Angeles Center.
According to a statement Friday from the Roy G. Park School of Communities, “ICLA and our student housing is several miles from the devastation caused by the fires and the call for the nearest evacuation area was lifted yesterday. Students will be able to move into their residence beginning on Sunday. ICLA classes will begin as scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Orientation is being delayed one day and will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, to allow for any travel delays.”
“The Park School will continue to work directly with the students to support them through this unnerving situation. Please keep everyone in the Los Angeles area in your thoughts. We are closely monitoring this situation and will keep you posted if anything new develops.”
CBS News reports at least 10 people have been killed in the fires, which have destroyed over 10,000 structures and forced thousands to evacuate.
