CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — A fatal crash in Cortlandville is under investigation. 

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says a sedan struck and severed a utility pole last night on Sears Rd. The driver died and investigators are still looking into causes of the crash. Deputies are withholding the victim’s name until the next of kin is notified. 

Sears Rd. was blocked off to traffic overnight, with Sheriff Helms suggesting drivers find alternate routes.
