UPDATE: 7/14 @ 4 P.M. – The DEC has extended the Air Quality Health Advisory in Central New York until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15.
ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The DEC has issued an air quality health advisory today for much of the state, including Central New York.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) for the region is 101 due to smoke-enhanced fine particles in the air, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. Those groups include children, the elderly, pregnant people, those who work or exercise outdoors, and people with respiratory or heart conditions.
