DANBY, NY (607NewsNow) — Some natural land in Danby will be protected from development.

On July 21, the Danby Town Board accepted a conservation easement with landowner Andi Gladstone. The agreement protects roughly 20 acres of land on Comfort Road.

According to the easement document, the property is a “fine example” of the rural character that Danby wishes to preserve.

Elsewhere in Tompkins County, the Ulysses Town Board is considering accepting a land donation. The roughly 15-acre property on Cold Springs Road would have to be used for recreation.
